Educational Technologies Specialist and VCU Graduate
Jessica Morris is an energized information technology professional currently residing in Richmond, VA. Jessica graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in December of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. Currently, she uses her expertise in web development, systems administration, and technology support as an Educational Technologies Specialist for VCU's Rehabilitation Research and Training Center.
During Jessica's time at VCU she worked as a Network Technician for the Business Information Systems department. It was here that Jessica gained skills in Linux, network administration, database administration, Hadoop, and server/network infrastructure. Using skills learned on the job or from her peers, Jessica assisted the Information Systems department with many infrastructure uprgades and improvements. In addition, Jessica and the Net Tech team provided technical support to hundreds of VCU Information Systems faculty, students and staff.
Jessica has also worked for many non-profits. In the past she served as the primary web designer and administartor for Richmond's READ Center where she used Wordpress to improve their update system and reimagine the visual look for the site. Jessica has also been responsible for the administration of Theresa Moore Consulting where she secured and managed the site. She was also responsible for many graphic design and web development projects for Theresa Moore.
Today, Jessica works as an Educational Technologies Specialist for VCU's Rehabilitation Research and Training Center. Here, Jessica assists with web development by adding and modifying pages and articles to various VCU affiliated websites, as well as administrates courses on Blackboard and provides technical assistance to hundreds of students a month.
In her spare time Jessica enjoys cooking, video and board games, the arts, craft beer and playing with her beloved dog JoJo.
